How does it work? – There are two National Competitions running in parallel; a Static piece and a Live Forging piece, the competition concerns the winning Blacksmiths (not the necessarily the pieces). A County Show overall winner (Champion) goes forward to the National Competition, likewise does the Runner Up. Points are awarded by the individual County Show and added to the two Competition tables below; 10 points for winner (Champion) and 4 points for Runner Up. Upon the finish of the last Show of the year all the points are added up and the overall Winner (Champion) and Runner Up for each of the two Competitions. The results are passed on by the National Blacksmith Competition Committee (NBCC) onto the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths (WCOB) for official recognition and Awards. The official Awards are announced and handed out at the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths Autumn Luncheon in Central London.
